Tanya at the 2008 Poet's Dinner

Apr 13 2008:

Just received: H. Arlo Nimmo's Good and Bad Times in a San Francisco Neighborhood, with Tanya's poem "Memorial Piece for Mrs. Smith" as Appendix Four. The neighborhood featured is Duboce Park and Potomac St., where Tanya lived for 12 years, starting her large Golden Gate Bridge paintings and writing much of the poetry that appears in her two chapbooks.

March, 2008: Tanya was Contest Chair of the 82nd annual Poets Dinner, a venue for some of the Bay Area's best poetry. On The President's Page of the Ina Coolbrith Circle bulletin, Richard Angilly included the following: "Laureate thanks to our vibrant Contest Chair, Tanya Joyce, who very faithfully gathered and coordinated all the judges, and found excellent readers."

The DVD, due out in time for Christmas 2008, will also include a half hour interview about Tanya's Buddha paintings on Berkeley's public access television's "Buddha by the Bay" series, a ten minute digital film of Tanya at work by Artist Embassy International videographer Arthur Levinson, and a fourth study of Tanya at work currently in production.
